Barbara Arlene (Wright) Danforth

Barbara Arlene (Wright) Danforth 88, Wife of Guy Keith Danforth, passed away peacefully on June 18 th, 2018 at the Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport MA. Born at the Hale Hospital, Haverhill MA she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Ruth (Morrison) Wright and the eldest sister of 5 siblings. She was a graduate of Groveland High school class of ( 19 ) .Barbara grew up and lived in Groveland most of her life, and later wintered in North Port Florida. Some
of her favorite past times were bird watching, gardening, and needlepoint. She was active with snowmobiling, boating on the lakes of New Hampshire and running with Rudy’s Tigers at Cedardale . Barbara was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and served as Mother Advisor to the members of The Georgetown Assembly, Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She worked many years in the Pentucket School system, keeping the Kids well fed. Barbara was a long-time
member of the Groveland Congregational Church where she taught Church School, volunteered in the nursery caring for “her” infants and toddlers. In her retirement she could be found volunteering at the Groveland Congregational Church thrift shop. Barbara had a big heart overflowing with love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They “always put a smile on her face”. Barbara was survived by her husband of 67 years G. Keith
Danforth, sisters Janet Rawsom of Madison WI, Beverly Pitcher of Longmont CO, Nancy Mello of Merrimac MA, and her late Brother Albert Wright. Children, Linda Danforth Niles and husband David of Groveland, Richard Danforth and wife Carolyn of Portsmouth NH, Robert Danforth and wife Susan of Groveland, Sheril Danforth of Newburyport and Sharon Danforth Boisselle and husband Craig of Haverhill. Her Grandchildren, Mary, Alex, Josh, Tim, Darren, Megan, Kate, Kevin, Peter, Courtney and Craig. Great Grandchildren: Meryn, Adelyn, Ryan, Andrew (aka scooch), Will, Rowan and Drew. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Service along with her late husband, G. Keith Danforth on Friday, October 12th at 11AM to be celebrated at The Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King Street, Groveland. Interment will be private. For those who wish, Barbara may be remembered through donations to The Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King Street, Groveland, MA 01834 OR to The Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49202.
