Bernard Keenan Obituary

Bernard R. Keenan died peacefully surrounded by his family on October 26, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital. Born on May 5, 1943 to Lydia (Brown) Keenan, Bernie grew up in Roxbury MA where he graduated from Boston English High School. Always a Bostonian in his heart, he was a resident of Everett, Peabody and Haverhill, MA where he
resided for the last 30 years. Proud to serve his country as a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, he
continued to serve his community as a lifetime member Mason’s and the Shriners. Bernie enjoyed spending his free time with friends and family. A highlight of his week would be Saturday’s with the Meaty Club. Most of all he loved traveling and seeing the world with his wife. Bernie is survived by his wife of 50 years Meg, son Glenn, and sister Barbara Arlington and her husband William. He also leaves several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and
nephews, a grandniece, grand nephews and many more friends.


Calling hours will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, October 30th at the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, MA. His funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, October 31st at St. Mary’s Church, 100 Andover Street, Georgetown, MA. Interment will be private at a later date. Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Bernie’s Life at the Georgetown VFW, 435 Andover St, Georgetown, MA on November 17 from 3-6 pm. Those who wish to remember Bernie in a special way may make gifts in his memory to either Shriners Hospital for Children or St.
