David Boyd Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of David A. Boyd announces his passing at the age of 66 while home in Groveland on Easter, April 21, 2019, after an amazing fight with cancer. David will be forever loved and remember by his wife, best friend and soulmate Jeannie, and his loving blended family including his son, Phil and his wife Celia, his son, James and partner Haley Babcock and his son, Stephen and his wife Kendra, along with his stepchildren, Ian Riopel and his wife Jenn, Cody Riopel and his partner Natalie Brogdanovich, Jake Riopel and his partner Kathy Garnavish, and Tim Wolcott and his wife Jill as well as David’s six grandchildren, Aiden, Arlo, Kyle, Trey, Ryleigh and Zoey. David will also be sadly missed by his brother, Stephen and his wife Tina and David’s sisters, Katherine Wilkes and Susan Green. He will forever be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
David graduated from Masconomet  Regional High School and began his adult life by serving in the US Navy, where he was a radio operator on the USS Elmer Montgomery. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1975 and left to study at UMass Lowell and achieved a Masters in Biology in 1986. David then spent more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he ultimately rose to the role of Director within Fortune 500 biotech companies. Outside of work, Dave was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. He was passionate about nature and the outdoors. He loved spending time tending to his garden, cooking and grilling,  kayaking, skiing, and accomplishing ambitious projects around the house together with his wife.
Please join David's family for a Celebration of his life on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2PM in  St. James Episcopal Church, 119 Washington Street, Groveland. For those who wish, In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to www.maineadaptive.org, a wonderful organization helping disabled children and adults to take part in many of the outdoor activities David enjoyed so much.
