Edith Cavell (Dawkins) Hamm

Edith Cavell (Dawkins) Hamm, 93, of Sudbury, passed away on Thursday morning, November 14, 2019 at the River Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lancaster, MA. Cavell was born in Groveland, MA on November 11, 1926 to the late John H. and Edith (Coram) Dawkins. She was a 1944 graduate of Groveland High School and attended the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. Cavell enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques and participated in many local antique shows in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and several trips with her daughter.
Cavell was the beloved wife of the late George M. Hamm and is survived by their children, Gregor M. Hamm and his wife Eileen of Hudson, MA and Cheryl A. Fraser of Ocala, FL; her grandchildren, Richard Hamm and his wife Stefanie of Sunapee, NH and Thomas Hamm of Lancaster, MA, her great-grandchildren, Miah and Garrett, her siblings, John H. Dawkins and his wife Pamela of Monson, ME, Rose DerMinasian of Sanger, CA, June Johnson and her husband Arnold of Groveland, MA and Bertha Lambert of Newburyport, MA. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to her Visitation on Monday, November 18th from 4 to 8 pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Her Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 1 o'clock at the Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. Those wishing to attend may meet at the funeral home for 12 noon.
