Elizabeth "Betty" Davidson Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” (Dupee) Davidson of Georgetown, MA passed away on July 31, 2019. Betty was happily married for 60 years to the late Robert (Bob) Davidson who recently passed away on May 6, 2019.
Betty was born on April 7, 1937 to the late George Dupee and Esther (Pierce) Dupee. A 1955 graduate of Yarmouth High School, Betty was active in sports and student government. Betty went on to graduate from Becker Junior College in 1958 where she served as class vice president. Betty’s classmates voted her “Did Most for the Class”.
In 1958, Betty and Bob were married and together they raised their three children; Didi Langell (Richard), Barry Davidson (Michelle), and Karen Townley (Andy). Betty loved nothing more than doting on her seven grandchildren; Nicole, Richard, Christopher, Robert, Brian, Derek, and Steven. Betty also leaves behind her beloved brother, Charles (Janet) Dupee of East Dennis, MA
In 1962, Betty and Bob moved to Georgetown, MA. As a stay-at-home mom, Betty enjoyed volunteering her time in the community. She volunteered with the Jaycees, Finance Committee, First Congregational Church, committee to rebuild Georgetown High School, board member at Trestle Way and was a mainstay working the polls at every election for over 30 years at the Perley School. In 1974, Betty decided it was time to start a career and obtained her real estate license. That career lasted over 30 years with the Pingree Agency in Georgetown. Betty also taught real estate classes in her spare time.
Betty was the kind of mother that never missed one of her children’s ball games or school events. Later in life Betty and Bob took up golf which they enjoyed for many years. She loved, and was loved by, her husband of 60 years until the very end.
The family will hold a private burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. To share a memory of Elizabeth with her family, please visit www.cgfuneralhomegeorgetown.com
