Francesca (Saraceno) Marino

Francesca (Saraceno) Marino, age 87 of Georgetown and Medford, passed away after a brief illness, on September 27, 2018, at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport.

Francesca was a fabulous cook, loved to sing and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born on January 26, 1931, in Augusta, Sicily. She was the daughter of the late Francesca (Kela) and Francesco Saraceno of Augusta, Sicily. Francesca was the beloved wife of the late Domenico Marino of Medford. She spent many years living in Medford and traveling to visit family in Sicily before spending her remaining years with family in Georgetown. She is survived by, a daughter, Giosepina (Marino) Balsamo and her husband Domenico Balsamo of Villa Smundo, Sicily; a daughter, Mirella Marino of Augusta, Sicily; and a son Andrew Marino and his wife Elizabeth of Georgetown, MA. She was a loving Nonna to Monica Balsamo, Claudia Balsamo and Patrizio Balsamo, Emanuele Serra and Maria Francesca Serra; Kayla Marino and Zachary Marino, and Great Grandmother to 4 in Augusta, Sicily.

Family and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 3rd at 10AM in  St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Street, Haverhill. Entombment will follow at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Visiting with the family will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
