Hilda (Mooney) Walsh

Hilda (Mooney) Walsh, 92, a longtime resident of Byfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019 with her loving family by her side at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. Hilda was born in Byfield on September 14, 1926 to the late Lamont and Nellie (Rogers) Mooney. Hilda worked various jobs throughout her life but was a Mother at heart and enjoyed being home for her husband and their children. During her spare time, Hilda loved being outdoors tending to her garden and soaking up the sunshine. She enjoyed bowling and the older country music, especially Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty, however what seemed to define Hilda the most was her contagious laugh which was always enjoyed by all within her presence.
Hilda was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Walsh and is survived by their children, Carol Maguire of Amesbury, Mary N. Coughlin and her husband Kevin of Georgetown, Thomas J. Walsh and his wife Linda of Plymouth, NH. John P. Walsh and his wife Celia of Haverhill, Joseph M. Walsh and his wife Patti of Kingston, NH and William F. Walsh of Danville, NH, Her 20 grandchildren, her 12 great-grandchildren and her 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as her many nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her siblings, Clyde and Charles Mooney and her Twin, Hilma Mooney and Mary Pearson.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, February 28th at 1PM in the chapel of the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Visitation will be prior to her service from 10 to 1PM. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
