Jeanette Wakulich Obituary

Jeanette Ann (Amarante) Wakulich, 86, of Boxford, MA, formerly of Bradford, MA and Bay Shore, NY, passed away suddenly on August 5, 2019 at Beverly Hospital. Jeanette was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 4, 1932 to the late Rocco and Mary (Sepe) Amarante. Jeanette completed her nurses training at Prospect Heights Hospital School of Nursing and spent many years as an Operating Room Nurse at Doctors Hospital in Freeport, NY and Smithtown General Hospital in NY. Jeanette loved to cook, Italian being her specialty. She enjoyed road trips with her sister Angie and her brother-in-law John, and her sister Mary and brother-in-law Albert. Jeanette enjoyed sharing a pot of coffee with her sister Flo, and had fond memories of Coney Island where she enjoyed chow mein on a bun. Jeanette always said you don't need a lot of money to have fun as she would reminisce about growing up in Brooklyn. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, bowling, tennis and Judo. She was an avid sports fan. Jeanette grew up watching the Brooklyn Dodgers, attending many games at Ebbets Field. She loved hockey and had season tickets to the NY Islanders, and she very rarely missed watching a tennis major on TV, once attending the US Open in NY. Over the past thirty years she had become an avid Red Sox fan and she loved to watch the games with her granddaughter. Jeanette loved to laugh, friends and family looked to her to put a smile on their face. She was always there for her extended family in their times of need.

Jeanette was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas G. Wakulich and is survived by her daughter, Jamie Giusto and her husband David of Boxford, MA, her grandchildren, Rocco Giusto of Boxford, MA, Domenic Giusto of Salem, NH and Jeanette Giusto of Boxford, MA, her sister Florence Russo of Parlin, NJ as well as her many nieces and nephews, including Evelyn Gordon and her husband Alan of Sudbury, MA, Ginger Dare, her daughter Camille Robinson and husband Mike, of Parlin, NJ, Stephen Russo and his wife Mercedes of Abingdon, MD, Janet Pensabene and her husband Joseph of Holbrook, NY, and Kim Evans of West Hempstead NY.
