Marilyn “Nan” J. (Handren) Marshall, 88, a longtime resident of Georgetown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on November 4, 2019 at Prescott House, North Andover. Marilyn was born on January 21, 1931 in Lynn, MA to the late William and Hazel (Wilson) Handren. Nan loved to bake, garden, travel and attend theater and concerts (especially Frank Sinatra concerts). She loved fashion, and owned and operated a women’s clothing store, Country Casuals, in Georgetown for many years. Nan was also an avid reader, and worked in the Georgetown Peabody Library until her retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be very much missed by her family.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Ronald I. Marshall and is survived by their daughters, Candice A. Weston of North Andover, Cathy L. Mello and her husband Gregory of Georgetown and Caryn J. Casey of Newburyport, her grandchildren, Kelly Woodsum and Jason Mello as well as her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jake and Zack. She was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, James W. and William E. Handren, Jr.
