Mary E. (White) Garnache

Mary E. Garnache passed away on May 26, 2018 , at the age of 95.  She was born on November 17, 1922 in Saco, Maine.  She was the daughter of Leonard and Diana (Lambert) White, two French Canadian immigrants.  Mary was brought up in Biddeford, Maine, where she resided until 1962.

In 1945 she married Paul E. Garnache.  They had three children; Gregory, Michael and Helene. In 1962, the family moved to Georgetown, Mass where Mary and Paul resided for over forty years.  In addition to being a homemaker, Mary worked at Hale Hospital in Haverhill, Mass. until her retirement in 1988.  She loved to sing and enjoyed performing in local musicals and in the church choir.  Mary also loved cooking, gardening, various crafts and the game of Scrabble.  She also had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke, even at her own expense; a trait she carried into old age.

Mary suffered two great tragedies in her life.  The first was losing her daughter Helene to an auto accident in 1972.  The second was the passing of her son Michael in 2014. Mary is survived by her son Gregory and his wife Catherine; three grandchildren, Nathan, Justin and Adeline Garnache and three great grandchildren, Vivienne, Theo and Madeline Garnache.

All are welcome to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:30AM in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 4 to 8pm in the funeral home.
