BOXFORD — Maurice Hatt, of Boxford, died peacefully, with family by his side, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the age of 89. Maurice was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle as well as a dear friend. He was devoted to his family, often he would share stories of his adventurous youth, his cars, his motorcycles, his golf league and bowling teams. Maurice was the rock of the family, strong, determined, proud and tireless. Though his passing has left a void, his legacy of hard work, loyalty and love remains within all that knew him. Born in Hamilton, Massachusetts on November 28, 1929, Maurice eventually moved to Boxford, where he raised his family. Maurice owned his own contracting business and he continued to work right up until a few months prior to his death. Maurice was an avid bowler and golfer. Maurice is survived by his four children, Carole Bishop and her husband Bob; Donald Hatt and his life partner, Rita; Robert Blaisdell and his wife Tracey; and Brian Hatt. Maurice will be missed by his 10 grandchildren: David, James, Carianne, James, Donald, Ryan, Theodore, Abigail, Madeline and Samuel, his 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition, Maurice is survived by his niece, Laura Warda and her husband Ed. Maurice was predeceased by his parents, Maurice & Helen Hatt, and his wife, Hilda (Costa) Hatt.
Family and friends are kindly invited to his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, June 22nd at 10 O'clock in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
