Richard Allen Conant

Richard A. Conant, 70, of Littleton, NC, died at his home on Nov. 15, 2017. He was born on April 7, 1947 in Bridgeport, Ohio and is the son of Hiram F. Conant and Dorothy (Brindley) Conant. Richard was a 1966 graduate of Georgetown High School and later joined the US Navy. He served 22 years in the US Navy and retired in 1990 in Virginia. He later moved to Littleton, North Carolina. Richard leaves behind two daughters, Amy Conant Voelker and husband David, and Cindy Strauss, all of Maryland. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Kevin and Jonah Gallagher, Paul and Peter Voelker, and Joe Strauss, of Maryland and Chelsea Strauss, of Texas. Two great grand children, Connor Moore an Amber Shirley, both from Texas. Richard also leaves behind many cousins and friends and an uncle, Richard A. Brindley, of Richmond, Virginia.Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Sunday, August 5th at 11AM in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Harmony Cemetery where Richard will be reunited with his parents.
