Sandra Nason Obituary

Sandi Nason, 63, of Boxford Massachusetts, passed away on July 3rd, 2018, surrounded by family. People come and go in our lives, but there exist a special few who reach beneath our skin and show us how to kindle the fire within. They teach us how to be better people, and they inspire us to create positive change in ourselves and in the world. Sandi was such a person. Her language of choice was music. It flowed through her fingers and bubbled up through her voice in the sweetest song. It danced through every part of her. Music was her soul. With generosity and grace, Sandi shared her music far and wide. She accompanied the Spofford Pond Elementary school chorus and served as pianist for the Music Department of Masconomet Regional High School. She was the Music Director for Pentucket Regional High School, Resident Music Director for Wide Eyes Theatre, a Music Director for North Shore Players, and Co-Founder and Music Director for moonlight productions. She was a Music Director and Auditions Pianist for Stage 284 in Hamilton, and also served as Director of Music for Second Congregational Church of West Boxford. She opened her home to private music students, to coaching sessions for aspiring young thespians, and to prep sessions for auditions and recitals. She was a gifted songwriter. Because her unique abilities as pianist were so greatly needed, Sandi spent more time on the piano bench than she did on stage. She did leave the bench long enough to star in the North Shore Players production, Kiss Me Kate and a Masconomet High School rendition of Barefoot in the Park. More recently, she acted in Anything Goes with the Greater Lowell Music Theater. On stage, Sandi vanished into the role, letting go of herself, and becoming the character she portrayed. Sandi was a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and a member of North Shore Lite Opera Company. She was a Sunday School teacher and Troop Leader of Girl Scout Troop 007. Always willing to help any child, anywhere, any time, she had her home designated as a safe place with Safe Place, a nationally recognized outreach program for youth. Somehow, she found time to create homemade soup for the family business, Nason’s Stonehouse Farm. With patience, humor, and trust, Sandi taught us to stand tall, to sing loud and proud, and to risk the high notes, even if they weren’t perfect. She taught us to believe in ourselves, to glory in our uniqueness, and to tap into our gifts and share them as she shared every part of herself. Her legacy reaches far beyond the roads she traveled. She has, through myriad acts of kindness, encouragement, and love, changed this world for the better. Sandi is survived by her husband, Jimmy Nason, her daughters, Melissa Georgi, Kimberly Robertson, and Rebecca Nason, her son-in-law Justin Georgi, step children, Jody Nason and Kevin Nason, her sister Nancy DeMarco, brother-in law, Jim DeMarco, and grandsons Morgan Robertson, Russell Georgi, and Tobias Georgi. She is predeceased by her brother David Littlefield.
