Anthony P Marchisio Sr, 74, a lifelong resident of Groveland, passed away December 21,2023 in the comfort of the home which he built with his wife. He was born July 7, 1949, to John and Mildred (Stephenson) Marchisio. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Josephus Daniels with a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1970. Upon his safe return, he married his high school sweetheart. Tony enjoyed a career as a professional CDL truck driver with local companies. His favorite pastimes were camping and RVing with his family. A friend to all animals, he was rarely seen without a dog by his side. Tony also enjoyed morning coffee with friends at the Village restaurant in Georgetown.
Tony leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Josephine (Sciacca). He is survived by his son Anthony Jr and daughter Jean Marie. A proud grandfather to Laura Ann and Anthony III and great-grandfather to Serenity and Connor Gagne. He leaves a brother, Walter of Milton, NH and was predeceased by his parents, eldest brother George, sister Bernice Lord, and stepfather Ralph Esty Jr. He will be greatly missed by his extended family of brother and sisters-in-law and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30th from 11 to 2 PM in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. All are invited to join the family. Interment will be private. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Tony may be remembered through donations to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
