Barbara H. (Penny) Costa

Barbara H. Costa (Penny) passed away on October 22nd, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School class of 1966. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 43 years Nicholas J. Costa.  After marrying the love of her life, the couple settled in Groveland, Massachusetts, where they raised their two children.  Barb and Nick traveled extensively with family and friends to many National Parks throughout the United States as well as Hong Kong, Switzerland and Italy.  If not traveling in their RV they could be found on the golf course and spending time with the grandkids. 

Some of Barbara’s favorite jobs include being a ski instructor at Ski Bradford, substitute teaching at the Bagnall School and most fondly, working at Career Resources in Haverhill.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Holly Maguire and her sons Ryan and Christopher and her son Nicholas R. Costa and his children Jada, Josie, Jodan and Nicky.  She also leaves behind her sister Sandra Finamore and brothers Robert Penny and Scott Penny.  Barbara was grateful for spending the last several years with her loving companion Philip Chila.

Family and friends are kindly invited to Barbara’s visitation on Sunday, October 26th from 3 to 7pm at the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
