Barbara Lillian (MacDonald) Tolman, 91 of Georgetown and formerly of Rowley, passed peacefully on April 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Barbara was born in Rowley on September 22, 1931 to the late Frederick and Isabelle F. (Perkins) MacDonald. Barbara was an L.P.N for many years and spent over 42 years at the Seaview Retreat Nursing Home in Rowley. When not working, she enjoyed bowling, baking and BINGO and loved to knit and crochet. Barbara was an avid skier, both downhill and cross country, however her greatest passion was golf. She was a longtime member of the The Ould Newbury Golf Club and loved to travel to Myrtle Beach to golf there. She was an avid traveler and especially enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean Islands. She enjoyed Friday nights at Lena’s Seafood followed by an ice cream across the street at Hodgies with her husband. Barbara never missed an opportunity for an ice cream cone.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, George R. Tolman and their cherished daughter, Debora A. Tolman and her cherished granddaughter, Kayla and her husband Jeffrey, her soon to be great-granddaughter, as well as her fur babies, Bentley and Chip. Barbara was the loving sister of the late John, Lorraine and Joan.
Family and friends are kindly invited to Barbara’s Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 18th at 12 Noon in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow at the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. Visitation will be prior to her service from 10 to 12 noon.
