It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Kirk Kamps. Bruce passed away peacefully February 6, 2025, at Lawerence General Hospital surrounded by his family. Bruce was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 10, 1950, to his parents, Everett and Alice Kamps. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Kamps, his son, Jason Kamps and his fiancé Nicole Twomey, daughter, Jennifer Bridges and her husband Robert, grandchildren, Gavin, Colin, Owen and Rowan, his sister, Carolyn Sullivan and family, sister, Lauren Baillargeron and family and brother, David Kamps and family.
Bruce had a true love and passion for excavation and was his happiest in the seat of a machine. Many people have said over the years there was no one better on a bulldozer. When driving around the local area, he would always point out the roads and houses he built. Bruce fell in love with Moosehead Lake in Maine, while helping his son build a home there. It was his favorite place on earth. He had a true love of the outdoors and in his younger years enjoyed building his flower and rock gardens around his home in Boxford.
Per Bruce’s wishes, no formal service is being planned. He will be celebrated at a private celebration of life at Moosehead Lake later this year.
