Carl M. Majesky, 4/22/1930 to 2/25/25, passed peacefully at the Kaplan House in Danvers at the age of 94. He worked 20 years for the Massachusetts State Police, assigned to general police work and the firearms identification section, headquarters, 1010 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA. During this time, as an Armorer and an instructor at the State Police Academy and local police academies lecturing on scene searching, evidence handling and firearms identification. At the firearms identification section he was in the capacity of a supervisor with the rank of lieutenant. He became court qualified and testified as a ballistics expert across the United States and in Canada. After retiring from the state police June 30, 1974, he did case work for the district attorneys in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, and Hampshire counties.
He was affiliated with the Essex County sheriff's department as a deputy sheriff and taught the firearms familiarization course and was range master from 1986-1995. He was an instructor with the Massachusetts Criminal Justice training council teaching correctional law enforcement officers to be certified as firearms instructors. He also instructed the security force for Texas Instruments in Attleboro and drivers for Boyle Transportation of Billerica, whose drivers picked up and delivered items requiring a shotgun in the vehicle. Carl was a member of multiple gun clubs and associations.
Carl was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed hunting and fishing cataloging cleaning and collecting guns and materials. He also liked striking up a conversation with everyone and anyone, telling stories and jokes. Dad would set up targets in the backyard and teach his children and their friends to shoot a BB gun. He, also, shared his love of wildlife and domestic animals. He loved feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. He would take us on ‘mystery rides’ every Sunday and we would check out license plates and look for Hawks. He taught us to respect firearms and an interest in teaching and helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, their children, Deborah Cagney, (husband, Peter, deceased) ( son, Peter, deceased) and son Michael from Gloucester. Daniel (Lindsey) Majeskey and their son Cameron from Winchester. Erik (Christine) Majeskey from Beverly and their children, Erika (Andrea) Perkins of Danvers and Kevin and his children, Grace, Vivian and Liam of Beverly. Heidi and her domestic partner Angel Sanchez from Georgetown and her children, Andrea Ashley of Maine and her son Jethro, Billy (YaLin) Cashman of New Hampshire and their daughter Phoebe, Emily and Matthew Norloff from Minnesota and their children Bjorn and Sigrun. Nick and his domestic partner, Jill of Haverhill and multiple relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to Carl's visitation on Wednesday afternoon, March 5th from 4 to 6pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. His Graveside Service with Military Honors will be on Friday, March 7th at 12 Noon at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Mayher Street, Easthampton, MA.
