Caroline Sheehan Obituary

Caroline E. Sheehan (Hall), 85, a resident of Georgetown died Friday February 28, 2020 peacefully at home in Georgetown. She was born on December 25, 1934 in Haverhill, MA to the late Burt Hall and Sevilla Hall (Wardman), she was predeceased by her sister, Janice Hall. She was raised and educated in Groveland, graduating from Groveland High School in 1952. She attended Framingham Teacher’s College and Miss Farmer’s Boston School of Cooking.
Caroline married the love of her life, the late Joseph Sheehan and they settled in Georgetown to raise their family. In her early years she worked at Maude’s Bakery and as bank lunch room supervisor in Boston serving over 2,000 people per day, she ran a small home catering business with a dear friend and until her retirement in 1996 as a lead technician in the data center at the IRS, Andover, MA. She was very active in the First Congregational Church of Georgetown having served as Church Treasurer for over 20 years, starting the pie table at the annual Church fair and in many other roles and was an active member of the Georgetown Council on Aging. Caroline enjoyed traveling the country with her husband Joseph during their 20 years of retirement. They were both employed and very active at the White Mountain National Forest Campgrounds in NH. If food is love. Caroline loved her family and friends very much, she was an amazing cook and baker. She loved camping and travel, quilting, crafting, as well as being an expert knitter.
Caroline and Joseph were married for 58 years and she is survived by her children, Pamela J. Sheehan of Georgetown, David J. Sheehan of Newton, NH and Timothy H. Sheehan and his wife Lynn of York, ME., she was most proud of her grandchildren, Carl, Joseph, Daniel and wife Brooke, Andrew and Ivy and the joys of her recent years, great grand-daughters, Ella and Aubree. Caroline loved her many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special cousins in California, Brother-in-law Edward Sheehan and her extended family, neighbors and friends.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Conte-Giamberadino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, MA 01833. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Noon at the First Congregational Church in Georgetown (with lunch to follow). Burial will be private at a later date.
