Dale Frederick Rockwood

Dale Frederick Rockwood, 83 of Byfield, MA. Formerly of East Haverhill, NH. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday May 2, 2022 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice High Point House. Dale was born on March 10th, 1939. In Putnam, CT. Dale was the beloved husband of his loving wife Carol O’Donnell. They got married on Sept. 13, 1964 in Reading, MA.
Dale attended at Haverhill Academy in Haverhill N.H. Dale especially loved his work as an artist including designing the town seal for the town of Byfield during their bi-centennial
Celebration.

Dale was commissioned by the town of Sheffield England for his drawing of a USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress Mi Amigo, aircraft during WWII. The plane depicted was heavily damaged but the pilot managed to maneuver it away from a group of children before it crashed. In gratitude, the town extended an invitation for Dale and Carol to attend the memorial where Dale's artwork will be on permanent display.

Dale was a retired member of the United States Air Force Reserves serving as a load master on C5- C130 aircraft with service at Hanscom Airforce Base in Bedford, MA.

Dale leaves behind his loving wife Carol, three children Timothy, Robert, and Kristen, and Robert's loving wife Trudy, as well as two grandsons, Robert Jr. and Alexander M. Dunton. Dale leaves behind a brother Pete and his wife Patricia. A niece Catherine Breest, her husband Manuel and their children Kazmiera, Nicholas, Melinda, and Manuel. Two nephews David, and Benjamin. As well as many extended relatives, and family friends. He had many different kinds of pets over the years but his favorite was his current cat Willow.

Family and friends are kindly invited to Dale's Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, May 10 at 11 o'clock to be celebrated at St. Mary's Parish, Georgetown. Interment will follow at South Byfield Cemetery, Georgetown. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
