David R. French, 76, a lifelong resident of Boxford, passed away Wednesday evening, June 24 th at the Beverly Hospital surrounded by his family. David was born in Lawrence, MA to the late Archer and Estelle (Kruschwitz) French. David owned and operated Kodiak Machine Company in Ipswich and served as a Police Officer for the Town of Boxford for over 10 years. For nearly 50 years, David, an avid outdoorsman, eagerly awaited his annual hunting trip with his lifelong friends. David had an immense passion for Great Moose Lake in Hartland, ME, where he owned a camp and could often be found there making memories with his family. However, his greatest passion was the love of his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by the love of his life, Mary Ann (Blaisdell) French with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with, and their children, Lori A. Hemmerdinger of Poland, ME. and Timothy P. French and his wife, Elysa of Hampstead, NH, his grandchildren, Emily and Allison French and David Hemmerdinger, his sister, Suzanne Osgood of Dexter, ME as well as his nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his sister, Judith Levesque.
Family and friends are kindly invited to his Funeral Mass on Monday morning, June 28 th at 10:30 at Saint Mary Church, 94 Andover Street, Georgetown. His graveside will follow at Village Cemetery, Boxford. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
