Donald MacLean Obituary

Donald Gary MacLean (“Mac”) of Georgetown passed away at home surrounded by loving family on Saturday, December 16, 2023, following a brief illness. He was 69 years old. Born in Boston, he was raised in Malden, MA and spent much of his childhood in Tamworth, NH. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, black powder rifles, being in the woods, and sharing his knowledge of nature. He enjoyed his time as a member and Range Safety Officer at the Georgetown Fish and Game.

Mac was a self-made man who worked for many years as a Land Surveyor, Utility Coordinator, Site Engineer, and Crew Chief, working on many well-known projects including Deer Island and the Big Dig. He will be remembered for being honest, grateful, creative, strong, and incredibly hard working, and for instilling these values into his children.

Mac is survived by his beloved wife, Jayne (Donato) MacLean. They spent 47 years together, and raised their family in Georgetown, MA on Rock Pond. He is also survived by his daughter, Stacey MacLean Woodbury of Lynn and her husband, Nick, his daughter, Kristin MacLean, and his son, Jared MacLean. He was extremely proud of his ten grandchildren: Camryn, Samuel, Lindsey, Dustin, Joseph, Athena, Alexander, Isabella, Jared jr., and Decklan. He is pre-deceased by his parents, his brothers Robert and Richard, and his sister, Carolyn. Mac also leaves behind many other family members, in- laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
