Dorothy A. (Stickney) Nee

Dorothy A. (Stickney) Nee, 73, of Georgetown and formerly of Lynn, passed away on Sunday evening at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital with her loving family at her side. Dorothy was born in Lynn to the late Alan and Dorothy (Crocker) Stickney on March 8, 1946 and was raised and educated in Lynn.  Dorothy was recently retired from the Massachusetts Water Authority, and previously retired from John Hancock Life Insurance after 32 years of service. Dorothy loved animals and  creating joy for children. She had an artistic talent for embroidery and homemaking, she enjoyed seeing community musical theater productions with her family, traveling, and testing her luck at the casino. Dorothy was a Boston Sports fan and LSU football fan. She’ll lovingly be remembered as the always thoughtful and comical Dottie by her friends and colleagues and as loving and supportive “Ma” by her daughter and grandchildren.  Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Nee and is survived by their daughter, Stacey A. LeMay and her husband Derik of Georgetown, her grandchildren, Leah, Barbara and Frank Deveau, her siblings, Betty McNeil and her husband Donald of Swampscott, Arthur Stickney and his wife Charmaine of Gloucester and Bruce Stickney of FL as well as her many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Neff, Pauline Stickney, Charlotte Roland, Russell, Richard, Robert, Alan, William and Charles Stickney.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, November 1st at 11 O'clock in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm in the funeral home.
