Dorothy M. ("Dottie") Tobin

Dorothy “Dottie” Tobin, 66, of Groveland, formerly of Byfield, passed away in her home on September 3, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on September 27, 1955, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Cunney) Tobin, Dottie grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Dottie spent time working at the Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem while also training to become an EMT. She later graduated the reserve police academy and spent over 30 years serving the community of Rowley as assistant to the Chief of Police, dispatcher, and
reserve officer until her retirement in 2021. Dottie was happiest when she was boating on the ocean, playing Keno at a local restaurant, or spending time with her beloved grandsons and her German Shepherd, Melody.

Dottie is survived by her fiancé, Russell Douphinette of Groveland, her sons, Ryan Lipinski and his girlfriend Dale Reynolds of Danvers, and Chad Lipinski and his wife Sarah of Danvers, her grandsons, Cole and Tyler Lipinski, her sister, Lucinda (Tobin) Johnson and her husband Robert of Rowley, her brother, Mark Tobin and his wife Betti Anne of Georgetown, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Sharon (Tobin) Fosberg.

A celebration of Dottie’s life will be held on Sunday, October 16 from 12:00 – 4:00 at the Black Swan Country Club, 258 Andover Street, Georgetown, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations in Dottie’s name to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer
