Ellen H. (Hooper) Proctor

Ellen Harvette Proctor, 78, of Newburyport, MA, formerly of Seabrook, NH, died Wednesday, March 31 st at Port Healthcare Center.  Harvette, or Ette, as known by her family, was a strong, amazing, hardworking single mom.  As the oldest of nine siblings, she was also like a mom to many of her brothers and sisters.  She loved to read, play word games (she was a master at Scrabble and Boggle), create greeting cards by paper crafting, and in past years she enjoyed sewing and ceramics.  Harvette was born in Memphis, TN and grew up in Georgetown, MA.  She was the daughter of the late Frederick A. Hooper and Mary Ellen (Taylor) Hooper.  She graduated from Perley High School in Georgetown MA in 1959 and briefly attended Salem State College. 
 
She is survived by her two sons, Kevin Proctor of Beverly and James Proctor and wife Sherrilynn of Newport VT, two granddaughters, Nicole Proctor and Melissa Potocki, two grandsons, James and Benjamin Proctor and several bonus grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers, Richard Hooper of Seabrook NH, Frederick B. Hooper and wife Marge of Haverhill MA, David Hooper and wife Anita of East Hampstead NH, and Stephen Hooper and wife Paula of Georgetown MA, four sisters, Dottye Sheets of Seabrook NH, Lola Ruth Hooper of Seabrook, Marilyn Crosby and husband David of Georgetown MA, and Joyce Hooper of Seabrook, 21 nieces and nephews, 43 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nieces and nephews.  Her family wanted to thank family and friends for their continued prayers and cards and to her caregivers and hospice support. 
 
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, April 24th at 11 AM in the First Church of Christ, 10 Church Street, Bradford. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Visitation will be held on THURSDAY, April 22nd in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
