Gregory James Morse, of Groveland, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 20, 1957, to Rosemary and Clifton Morse, both of whom he cared for lovingly in their final years.
Gregory was a skilled machinist who dedicated many years of service to General Electric before his retirement. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability, craftsmanship, and quiet strength. In addition to his career at GE, Gregory honorably served his community as a firefighter with the Groveland Fire Department, embodying courage and selflessness in protecting others.
Above all else, Gregory was a family man. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Diane, whom he proposed to after knowing for only two weeks. They loved each other fiercely every day of their lives for 50 years. They shared a love that many only dream of finding. He was the proud and loving father of six children: Gregory, Katie, Alison and her husband, Scott; Joseph and his wife, Juli; Emily and her husband, Joe; and Matthew. He was an even prouder grandfather. Being “Da” brought immense joy and laughter to his life. He leaves behind many grandchildren—Liam, Noah, Aryanna, Grace, Ella, Chloe, Jackson, Ivy, Lorenzo, and Winter—who brought him endless happiness. He found his greatest joy in the laughter, milestones, and everyday moments shared with his family. His presence was steady and comforting, and his love was constant and unwavering.
Greg loved being “up north,” especially camping along the Kancamagus Highway, where some of his happiest memories were made. Whether it was sitting by the fire, enjoying a beer, enjoying his campfire potatoes, or simply taking in the peace and quiet of his favorite campground, Jigger Johnson, those trips brought him a deep sense of joy and freedom. It was a place where he could truly relax, surrounded by nature and the people he loved most.
Greg will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love of traveling and adventure, kind heart, and the deep love he had for his family. He was a great man who lived a great life. Or, as Greg would have said, “It was the balls!” He will be deeply missed and remembered forever by his family.
Wake will be April 13th from 4pm-8pm at Conte-Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street Georgetown, MA. There will be a private memorial service for immediate family only at a later date.
