Jason Thomas Alder

On Saturday, February 29th 2020, Jason Thomas Alder, loving son, brother & uncle was called home at the age of 44. Jason was born on October 11th, 1975 in Haverhill MA. to Brenda (Kelleher) Alder and the late William Thomas Alder. He attended Methuen Collaborative School and graduated with the 1994 class of Newburyport High School. During his high school years, he found an interest in hockey and was captain of the Gold Medal Hockey Team. He also enjoyed the sport of fencing. Jason had a love for all things History. The knowledge and insight he had was unending. He had a passion for reading and often carried a book everywhere he went. He would spend hours in the library just absorbing anything that piqued his interest and loved to engage in deep conversations where he could share his thoughts. His true calling came in 2002 when he became an uncle. His love for his nieces and nephew was undeniable. They brought him joy that filled his heart. The love spending time with him and always knew there would be lots of laughs sitting around the table playing games. They were his world and he loved every second of it. Jason will be remembered for his smile that could light up a room, his infectious laugh, and his truly kind, giving heart that loved his family more than anything. Jason was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Alder as well as his grandparents, an aunt and his uncles. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Kelleher Alder of Florida, his sister, Destinie Alder Berard, Brother in law Richard Berard and his cherished nieces, Madison and Stella and his nephew Braden as well as his aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Family and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Jason’s life on Friday, March 13th at The Barn Pub and Grill in Amesbury, MA. from 5-10 pm. Burial services will be held privately for family.
