Jean F. (Sasso) Skalecki, 94, of Georgetown and formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Jean was born in Boston on December 28, 1924 to the late Joseph J. and Theresa (Paturzzo) Sasso. Jean was a graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Boston. She worked for many years in the Boston Garment District as a seamstress . For 27 years, Jean was a Teachers Assistant within the Everett School System, working at both the Devens and George G. Hamilton Schools. She retired at the age of 70. Jean was a former member of the Winthrop Elks Ladies Auxiliary. An avid arts and crafts enthusiast, she loved participating in the local craft fairs. Her motto was, “Don’t buy it, I’ll make it for you.” Jean enjoyed ballroom, swing, polka and modern dancing with her husband of 67 years.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Mitchell F. Skalecki and is survived by her daughter, Debra J. Skalecki -Parisi and her husband Thomas J. of Georgetown, her grandsons, Daniel T. and Nicholas K. Parisi of Georgetown, her sister-in-law, Geraldine Sasso of Lynnfield as well as her niece and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Karen J.T. Skalecki and her brother, John T. "Bro" Sasso.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, March 18th at 11AM in St. Mary's Parish, Georgetown. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 17th from 2 to 6pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
