Joan W. (Wandless) Tuney

Joan Wandless Tuney - passed away peacefully Sept.26,2025 at the age of 97.

Joan was the daughter of the late Rena (Leavitt)Wandless and the late Russell C. Wandless. She grew up in Stoneham and spent summers in Eaton Center, NH. She was a 1945 graduate of Stoneham H.S.,Stoneham, Ma. She was married to the late Andrew J.Tuney, Jr., predeceased by him, her son, Andrew J Tuney III, and her grandson, John Elliott. 

She and Andy began their family in Stoneham and moved on to Georgetown, MA to complete their family of 5 children to adulthood. She leaves behind her daughter, Andrea Holbrook and her husband Jim of No.Andover, Jeanne Elliott of Atkinson, NH. her daughter-in-law, Anita Tuney of S.C, her daughter, Barbara Viera and Jim of Georgetown, Ma her son, Arthur R Tuney and his wife Randa of No. Carolina. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 25 great grands and 14 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She leaves memorable stories to retell for years to come. She was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. 

Throughout the years, her pastimes included reading books, swimming, cross country skiing, sledding, knitting, cards, bowling, Golfing, blueberry picking, crafting and painting, taking enjoyment of her growing families. She was also predeceased by her sister, Janet Dewhurst, her brothers, Dana and William Wandless. She also leaves her sister, Judith Cobb of Austin, TX. 

Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham, MA. at the convenience of the family.
