Joan Alice (Ricker) Wright

Joan Alice (Ricker) Wright, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021. She was 84 and would have celebrated her 85 th birthday on July 20th. Born to Myron and Rita Ricker, she was raised with her nine siblings in Georgetown, Massachusetts, where she and her beloved, predeceased husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” Wright, raised their family. 
Joan is survived by siblings Betty Ann Langlais, Tom Ricker, Phyllis Ricker, Alice Sarandos, Bill Ricker, Pam Camillieri, and Terri MacNeil; children Linda Danilecki and husband Robert, Raymond Wright, Debbie Sloban and husband Tom, Bonnie Wright, and Robert Wright Jr.; grandchildren Karrie Downey and husband Sean, Amanda Suleski, Kristie Danilecki, Erin Sloban, Jillian Banville and husband Jeffrey, Shauna Moyer, and Robert Wright, III; great grandchildren Marie, Jaylene and Rhian Suleski, Carolyn and Connor Downey, Reagan and Bryony Moyer, Haley Dumont, and Robert Moore; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  She is predeceased by siblings Jean Roy and Mike Ricker and daughter-in-law Lori Wright.
Joan owned and operated J&R Trucking with her husband and also worked for the family business, Sam’s Transportation, for many years.  Family was the center of her world.  She had an amazing and welcoming heart.  Her home, which was adorned with countless Holstein cows and all things blue, was lovingly referred to as Grand Central Station.  Joan touched the lives of so many and was loved by so many in return.  She hosted so many unforgettable family holidays, pool parties, St. Patrick’s Day dinners, and more.  She enjoyed camping trips with family and spoiling her grandchildren, and she was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox. 
Ma, Nan, Joan, will be remembered for her fierce loyalty and tremendous strength.  Family and friends who will miss her dearly, will cherish her memory and are comforted that she is once again with the love of her life. 
 
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 10th from 1:00 until 5:00 PM at the Conte-Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will be held in mid August at the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
