Joanne “Midge” (Parent) Hicks, age 76, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Forrest E. Hicks III, with whom she had share over 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill, MA on November 14, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Edwin C. and Erma F. (Morse) Parent. Joanne was a graduate of Georgetown High School, Class of 1964. Joanne and Forrest became high school sweethearts, they settled down upon completion of their education and began their family.
Joanne loved nothing more than spending time with her family–especially her children and grandchildren. She loved collecting–and gifting –teddy bears. She had a great love for all animals, especially cats and horses. If you had the pleasure of knowing Joanne, she had a gift of gab and enjoyed having extensive conversations about anything. . For Joanne Holidays were always very important particularly Christmas. Every year she would have a special Hallmark ornament specifically selected for each of her loved ones. She always looked forward to being with her loving family, and making long lasting memories with each of them.
Along with her dear husband, Forrest, Joanne is survived by her children, Forrest “Teddy” Hicks of Georgetown, Charles Hicks and his wife Janice of Dexter, ME, and Amy Vance and her husband Mark of Attleboro; her grandchildren, Paige Gately of Georgetown, and Charles Hicks of Dexter, ME, as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
