John E. "Jack" Whitney, III, 69 of Boxford and formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his children on Sunday, June 17th at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. Jack was born in Brighton, MA. to the late John E. Jr. and Ruth (McVey) Whitney. Jack was the owner of the Whitney Barrel Company in Woburn for many years until his retirement. During his spare time, Jack loved to ride horses and listen to music and was very fond of antique cars. Jack enjoyed boating, especially in Seabrook, NH and Ipswich, however, Jack's greatest passion was being in the company of his children and grandchildren
Jack is the beloved father of Kevin Whitney and his wife Jaime of Boxford, Erin Whitney of Amesbury and Kristin Clancey and her husband Ryan of Newburyport and the cherished grandfather of Jack and Bennett Clancey.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, June 20th from 4 to 7pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Funeral Services and interment will be for close friends and family.
