Katherine Joyce (Sanborn) Mello

Katherine Joyce (Sanborn) Mello passed away peacefully November 30, 2023. Joyce was 96 years old. Joyce was born December 6, 1926, in

Byfield, MA. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Clifford A. Mello, her son Peter C. Mello and Daughter Susan Elizabeth Mello.

Joyce leaves behind her daughter Kathryn J. (Mello) Nunan Borylo, son Brian A. Mello and wife Kathy, grandson Daniel E. Nunan, Granddaughter Brooke (Mello) Montwill, her husband Todd and great grandchildren Carys and Bryce. Joyce also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Joyce and Cliff were fortunate to have a wonderful marriage for 55 years. As children my brothers and I were more blessed than we realized. She was the glue that held us all together Joyce was a member of the Catholic Womens’ club. Joyce was a very a successful realtor who won many awards for sales through the late 1980’s, then she retired to be with her husband. She was a fan of many things, probably the first was commonsense and no nonsense, a lover of Persian cats, loved bird watching (as did the cats), spending time with her grandchildren and spending time at her daughters’ horse farm up until she could no longer make it down to the barn.

Family and friends are kindly invited to Joyce's Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 16th at 12 noon to be celebrated in St. Mary's Parish, Andover Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow at the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
