Kenneth V. Hoover passed away in his home in Boxford, MA on Tuesday, August 3. Ken was born in East Cleveland, OH on January 27, 1951 to the late Richard K. and Victoria E. (Ross) Hoover. Ken received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. A successful career in the industrial automation industry followed, starting at Allen-Bradley (now Rockwell Automation). Throughout his work career, he was respected and admired by those he worked for and by those who worked for him.
Ken had a lifelong passion for cooking. He loved collecting and reading cookbooks (with plenty of photos for inspiration), experimenting in the kitchen, and was always excited to serve his carefully crafted meals to his family along with detailed explanations of the ingredients and techniques that made them great.
He will be missed. Ken was an intelligent, reserved, sensitive man with a good sense of humor. He was a source of inspiration to his children as well, passing down his unabating curiosity for experiencing new things, love of technology and gadgetry, and his enduring sense of wanderlust to explore the world.
Ken is survived by his wife of over 39 years, Judy A. (Nollet) Hoover of Boxford, and sons, Daniel J. Hoover and his wife Yansu Ouyang of Redwood City, CA, Thomas M. Hoover of Somerville, MA, and Robert K. Hoover of Essex MA, and his grandchildren Brandon and Rylan Hoover of Redwood City, CA.
Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Sunday, August 8th from 2 to 4pm in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. His graveside service at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover is private. For funeral home directions, florists or to share a memory of Ken with his family, please visit www.cgfuneralhomegeorgetown.com
