Louise Clancy Obituary

Louise Clancy (Cleary), 82, rose into the arms of her heavenly Father on Thursday, February 8, 2024. She fought a courageous 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, facing it head on without letting it dampen her eternally cheerful spirit.

Born on August 22, 1941, Louise was the eldest child of William and Margaret (Spears) Cleary of Salem, MA.   Louise is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Clancy, her brother Robert Cleary, and her brother-in-law Victor Tamilio. She is survived by her daughter, Carlene (Clancy) Tymann and husband Jonathan, her daughter Leanne (Clancy) Ouellette and husband Donald, both of Stratham NH and her son Michael Clancy and wife Justine of Georgetown. She also leaves a loving sister, Roberta Tamilio and family, her wonderful brother, James Cleary and wife Karen and family, her dear sister-in-law, Rosemary Cleary and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a kind, loving, and generous woman loved by so many family, friends and neighbors in her Georgetown community of 55+ years. Her attitude was always one of joy and contentment and she was always looking to serve the needs of others. Her family was her pride and joy and she provided a lifetime of care and memories through her tireless efforts to make every occasion special. Whether it was her famous designer birthday/wedding cakes, her annual homemade Gingerbread Houses at Christmastime or her delicious corn beef and cabbage dinners for St. Patrick’s Day, she was always creating family memories which have been cherished by all.

Louise also loved her Georgetown community. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and a past member of St Mary’s Women’s Club. She was also involved with the Red Hatters, Kreative Krafters, Girl Scout and Boy Scout volunteering, her North Shore Music Theater group, and she loved gathering annually with many of her local cousins for their “Cousin’s Reunion”.

She might have been best known however as the Georgetown AVON lady for over 30 years with many awards to prove her excellence in that arena. All of this while raising three beautiful children, Carlene, Leanne and Michael, and while working full time at the IRS in Andover, MA until she was 71 years old.

Most importantly, Louise treasured her 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who she spoiled endlessly. To her grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, Jamieson, Courtney and Cassandra Tymann, Tyler and Megan Ouellette, Michael Jr and Miley Clancy, Jackson and Luke Tymann, “Nannie” was very special. They all will carry the memories and the stories from her lifetime of love and she will be remembered and cherished forever. God has blessed us through her, may we bless others as we carry on her legacy and positive outlook toward the future.
