Marie E. Surette

Marie E. Surette, 93, of Newton, NH and formerly of Saugus, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10th at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by the love of her family. Marie was born on February 2, 1928 in Nova Scotia, Canada to the late, Louis and Anne J. Surette. Marie was the beloved wife of the late, Ambrose G. Surette.
Marie was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and was at her happiest when surrounded by her entire family. She loved hosting all the holidays and birthdays at her home. Marie was all things purple and loved to show off her favorite color whether in clothes, decorations or home décor. She was loved and will be sorely missed.

Marie is survived by her loving children, Ken P. Surette and his wife Janice of Georgetown, Corinne M. Surette of Seabrook, NH, Susan A. O’Donnell of Wakefield, NH, Diane T. Hartford of Newton, NH and Donna J. Doherty and her husband Tom of Londonderry, NH, Her cherished grandchildren, Ricky, Amber, Kenney, Crystal, Brianna, Danielle and Jessica. Her adored great-grandchildren, Daryl, Knox, Axel, Lenore, Leo and Gloria, her sister, Doris Piwowarski of Saugus, MA as well as her many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her brothers, Francis and Richard Surette.

In honor of Marie's favorite color, please wear something purple to her wake and funeral.


Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Friday morning, January 14th at 11 o’clock at St. Mary’s Parish, Georgetown. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 6pm in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
