Nina Meader Obituary

Nina Meader ascended to the next phase of life peacefully in her sleep on a beautiful Saturday morning. Born to Douglas Rogers and Emily Jordan Rogers, they would later bless her with a brother Jack. Emily would Pass in 1939 and Nina and Jack were Raised in Byfield by her father and her Grandparents, Hobart and Ethel Rogers.

She Graduated from Newburyport High school in 1953 and went on to Salem Hospital School of Nursing-graduating in 1957 which led to an over 50-year career of being a Registered Nurse at Salem Hospital, Home Health VNA of Newburyport, and the Newbury Council on Aging. Throughout her career she would make so many wonderful friends and touch so many lives.

She married Bernard Meader after graduating nursing school, who would pass in 1983. Nina would remain a widow and continue raising her 7 children. Her children and nursing were her life. She loved going to their ball games, plays, and graduations-and took great pride in their accomplishments. The only thing to rival her love for her children was her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed a birthday or holiday card. She was also very active at the Community United Methodist church in Byfield, serving as its lay member for many years. She loved to travel and would have many wonderful adventures with her family as well as a special group of friends doing bus tours across the country with a most treasured group of friends. She was a prolific pen pal to so many people she collected throughout her life

She is predeceased by her husband Bernard Sr., Brother Jack Rogers, Daughter Laura, sons Bernie Jr. and Bruce, grandson Curtis, and granddaughter Shannon who passed at birth.

She is survived by her daughter Linda, sons Kirk, Stan, and Ryan, Daughters in law Colleen and Michelle, sister-in-law Barbara, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as her best friend of over 70 years- Muriel.

We will always remember the road trips, world travel, always having to explain a joke to her, her generosity and spirit of service to her fellow human, but most of all her unwavering Faith in God.
