Norma Louise (Holt) Abbott

Norma Louise Abbott died peacefully at her home in Groveland on November 12, 2021.  Norma was born in Georgetown MA on November 23, 1931, the daughter of Raymond and Bernice Holt. She graduated from Georgetown High School , class of 1949 and went on to hairdressing school.  She was the owner/operator of Norma’s Beauty Salon in Groveland for many years.

She married Richard C. Abbott of Groveland in 1957 with whom she enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage   In a true tale of love, she pre-deceased her beloved husband by just a few days.

Norma was a devoted and loving mother.  She loved holidays and family get-togethers.  Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. During her retirement years she enjoyed going for daily excursions, exploring the New England coast, knitting, craft fairs and horses.  Her three grandchildren became the focal point of her life in her later years, as she never missed any events involving them.

She was pre-deceased by her parents Raymond and Bernice Holt of Georgetown, and her sister Muriel Gordon and her husband Donald of Georgetown.

She leaves behind her sister Carolyn Erler and her husband Robert of Windham NH, her son, Richard Abbott and his wife Mary Ann of Newburyport, her daughter, Laurie Stack and her husband Jeff of Newbury, and her three beloved grandchildren, Captain Patrick Abbott and his fiancé Kim of Carlsbad California, Molly Abbott of Chelsea MA and Michael Abbott of Newburyport MA, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family members will be held on Saturday, November 27th from 10am to 12 noon , followed by her Funeral Service at Noon in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.  A private burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. The family will announce a public Celebration of Life for their parents at a later time.
