Norma J. (DellaPorta) MacDonald, 75, of Georgetown, formerly of Revere. passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday morning at the Kaplan House in Danvers, surrounded by the love of her two daughters, Danielle and Tanya. Norma was born in Revere on June 16, 1945 to the late Peter and Vera (Parente) DellaPorta. Norma was the former owner of Danya's Bridal Shop in Reading, MA. and had a true passion for fashion. She was a longtime Realtor at Century 21 and more recently at Coldwell Banker. A high energy, vibrant, compassionate and extraordinary women whom touched many lives, Norma loved to sing, dance and travel with her cousin Diane and her late lifelong friend Audrey, however her greatest passion was being in the company of her family, especially her daughters and son -in laws, whom she loved.
Norma was the beloved wife of the late, Neil G. MacDonald and is survived by her daughters, Danielle Giamberardino and her husband Stephen of Georgetown and Tanya Servizio and her husband Carl of Boxford, her sister, Claire Crapanzano of Staten Island, her sister-in-law, Irene DellaPorta of Kingston, NH as well as her nieces and nephews, Lenny and Lisa D'Orlando, Gina Balsam, Dana and Erik Voigt, Peter and Sara DellaPorta, Joey and Jamie DellaPorta, Deanna and Joe Paddock. Norma loved her "grandchildren" Frisco and Jewels. Norma was predeceased by her siblings, Gilda D'Orlando and Peter DellaPorta and her God Daughter, Lennie Morrione.
The family wishes to thank her niece Dana for all her love, support and care to their Mom, especially during this year. We are forever grateful to her.
Family and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Service on Monday, April 19th at 11 AM in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6pm. For those who wish, Norma may be remembered through donations to The Susan G.
