Patricia Daniels Obituary

Patricia Eileen (Quinn) Daniels 76, of Boxford, died peacefully on April 18, 2023, after a long illness. Born in Salem, Patricia was the daughter of the late John and Nora (Wholley) Quinn. Patricia was married for 54 years to her husband David Daniels, who passed away only a short 9 months ago. Pat was raised and educated in Salem and attended St. James School where she was passionately involved with the Drum Corps. She was the proud graduate of Salem School of Nursing class of 1966 where she made several lifelong friends. Pat and Dave settled in Boxford where they raised four children and built a life.

After graduating nursing school, Pat worked at Salem Hospital. She then went on to work for JB Thomas, Beverly Hospital and eventually retired from the PACE program in Lynn. She was an absolutely dedicated nurse who took pride in her attention to detail and calm and gentle way to all those she cared for. She took extra time to make sure her patients were comfortable, and their needs were met even if it meant working late.

Patricia was the most selfless and caring person. She dedicated her life to helping others and was the primary caregiver to her son Michael who lived with Muscular Dystrophy. She was the first person her family and friends called whenever someone had a medical question. Pat was a true and genuine friend that never turned down a cup of tea or a “stitch” night. Pat always made an effort to send a card whether it be for a birthday or anniversary. She was the pillar of her family and the most kind and gentle soul. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and always dreamed of going to Ireland. Pat loved a good book, crossword puzzle, a game of Rummy or solitaire and spending time with friends and family. She was always a second mother to her children’s friends, a listening ear and a warm hug. Her spirit and kind and loving heart have left an impression on all that knew her along the way.

Pat is survived by her children who are heartbroken, Robert Daniels and his wife Candace, Kathleen Mullen and her husband Jack, and Colleen Soares and her husband Michael. She was the loving and proud grandmother to Spencer and Kacey Mullen and Sarah, Chase, Kathryn and Margaret Soares. Patricia is also survived by her sister, Mary Quinn Carter and her husband David and niece and nephew Melissa Murphy and Eric Gibney who affectionately called her “Auntie Trish”. She also leaves behind many friends and family including her longest and dearest friend, Mary Tibbetts. Patricia is predeceased by her parents, her husband David, her son Michael and her sister Eileen Gibney.
