Patricia Sedler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 14th, 2023. She was 85 years old. Her passing comes shortly after her husband’s, Robert (Bob) Sedler, with whom she shared nearly 62 years of marriage. Born on August 17, 1938, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Costello) Bond.
Pat and Bob were known in the community for opening Sedler’s Antique Village, the multi-story, multi-vendor antique wonderland. Together, they initiated Georgetown's reputation as the antique capital of New England. Pat loved traveling the country to buy and sell jewelry, dolls, and vintage clothes. She was a member of the Catholic women’s club, where she raised money for Saint Mary’s church annually through plant sales and merchandise donations for many years. She was a den mother, leading her sons in Cub Scouts. She designed costumes and clothing. She saw the value in forgotten and overlooked objects, teaching others to make, embellish, and repair, leaving the world more beautiful in her wake.
For most of the last decade, Pat was living with Alzheimer’s disease. Despite her waning memory, she was loving, fun, and silly until the end. She never lost her sweetness and joyful nature, leaving her friends, children, and grandchildren with many stories to share about her. To use her words, she was “happy as a lark.”
Pat lives on in the memory of her children, Robert and Aimee Sedler of Seneca, SC, Rick and Pam Sedler of West Newbury, MA, Dean and Cathy Sedler of Wolfeboro, NH, and Sandra and Jeff Thornell of Bradford, MA; her grandsons, Paxton, Cody, Kyle, Andrew, Caleb, and Aaron; and her granddaughter, Carly. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Sedler; her brothers, Charlie Bond, Bill Bond, Jack Bond, and Joseph (Jock) Bond; and her sister, Gail Sine.
Family and friends are kindly invited to Pat's Funeral Mass on Friday morning, December 22nd at 11 o'clock to be celebrated at St. Mary's Parish, 94 Andover Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Visiting with the family will be held on Thursday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
