Ralph Chouinard Obituary

Ralph E. Chouinard, 79, a longtime Georgetown resident and formerly of Peabody, passed away on Saturday, November 14th at the Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport. Ralph was born in Lynn on October 19, 1941 to the late Joseph C. and Blanche (Davis) Chouinard. He was raised and educated in Peabody and chose to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Ralph graduated with his class from the Peterson School of Engineering where he received his degree and went on to have a long career with Avco/Textron as an Engineer. After Ralph retired, he started his own heating business, REC Heating, which helped him become proudly involved with the Community Action Program of
Haverhill, MA. where he cleaned and serviced heating systems for less fortunate families. Ralph was very helpful as a handyman which suited him perfectly because he enjoyed and loved helping people, no matter what the cause. During his spare time, Ralph volunteered at the Anna Jaques Hospital and was a longtime member of Georgetown Kiwanis and the Georgetown Historical Society. In the early 70’s Ralph was a member of the Georgetown Follies which he relished as he was a natural comedian and performer; he loved to make people laugh!!  Ralph enjoyed cooking, reading, bird watching, his various dog companions as well as visiting the casinos with his wife and sister; however his greatest passion was being in the company of his extended family.
Ralph is the beloved husband of Carole A. (Carpenter) Chouinard of Georgetown and is survived by their children, Sheila A. Parker of Georgetown, Thomas E. Chouinard and his partner Linda Stephenson of Plaistow, NH and Richard M. Chouinard of Hampton, NH, his grandchildren, Cameron Parker and Adam and Amanda Chouinard, as well as their mother Catherine (Wimmer) Chouinard, his sister, Irene Willametz of Kensington, CT as well as many nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his siblings, Sandra Shastop and Joseph Chouinard.
