Ralph B. Spurr, Jr.

Ralph B. Spurr, Jr. passed away Friday September 23, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Newton, NH. He was born in Beverly, MA on April 7, 1950, to the late Jessie (Livermore) Spurr and Ralph Barnes Spurr. Ralph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne (Riley) Spurr, his brother, Ernest Spurr of Colorado, his daughter, Mellissa Spurr, his Son, Justin Spurr and Wife Kelly Spurr of Sandwich, MA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Riley and Aiden Spurr, as well as many cousins, nieces, grand-nieces, grand- nephews, and many wonderful friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Lawrence Spurr.

Ralph was a Sargent in the US Army from 1969-1972 where he served in South Korea during Vietnam. When returning he attended a friend’s wedding and was introduced to Joanne (Riley) Spurr. Ralph and Joanne Spurr Married on April 27, 1974. The arrival of their daughter Mellissa Spurr born in 1975 and son Justin Spurr 1977. Ralph and Joanne bought their first family home in Georgetown in August 1977. Ralph lived with his beloved family in Georgetown for 37 years. After his service he went to college at UMASS Lowell and developed a career in Electronic Engineering. Ralph was a hard worker, and you could also find him on the sidelines of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities practicing his photography skills. Ralph had a passion for photography and captured every detail and moment he could on film. Ralph also really appreciated a good sense of humor and would crack a joke or play a joke any chance he got. Ralph liked to take weekends and vacations at the Spurr Family home in Shapleigh, ME where he enjoyed boating, water sports, and spending quality time surrounded by family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to Ralph's Funeral Service at the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St. Georgetown, MA on Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2022, at 1 p.m. His burial with Military Honors will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
