Sadly, Dick “Magic “passed away peacefully Friday evening on July 2, 2021 at home after a long brave battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his son, Richard Arthur Archambault, Jr. on April 11, 2021. Also his parents, Eleanor and Irving Archambault of Salem and brothers, Robert and John of NH. Dick grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1963, then attended Salem State College. He was a member of the Mass National Guard and the Masons. He worked for General Electric for several years before moving to Georgetown and opening The Gold Rush in 1979 then moving the store to Rowley in 1999.
He loved designing and selling jewelry and interacting with his customers. He had charisma and charm and managed to make everyone his friend. He was so proud and enjoyed time with his grandsons. He loved all Boston sports, but his real passion was gardening and creating beautiful landscapes.
He leaves his wife, Candace (Hartt) of 53 years, his son, Ryan A. Archambault and his sons, Ryan, Jr. and Reid of Georgetown, his Best friend and 42 year employee, Jeanne Mulligan, her sister, Susan Sargent of Bradford, Beloved sister and her husband, Cheryl and Jim Crotty of Wenham and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Family and friends are invited to Dick’s visitation on Monday, July 12 th from 4 to 8pm in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. His graveside service will be on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock at Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
