Richard Walter Hills passed away on Sunday, August 18th 2024 at the age of 76 after a long, brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Newburyport, MA. He grew up in Byfield and later settled in Georgetown for most of his life where he and his wife raised their family. He was a lifelong machinist at General Electric. He enjoyed the beach, metal detecting, the White Mountains, wrestling and spending time with his family.
He lived with his wife in Salisbury, MA when his health began to decline. She rendered the appropriate services so that he could live out his remaining time in his home with the care of in-home hospice as well as his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Faith Hills of Georgetown MA. His children Derek Hills of Maryland, Jaime McHugh of Plaistow NH, Jannette Hills of Georgetown MA, Melissa Hills of Georgetown MA, Angela Hills and partner Andrew Applegate of Salisbury MA and Stephanie Hills and partner Sandra Amancio of Salem MA. His grandchildren Jessica Doucette, Julianna Doucette, Lyn Cassaletto, Andrew Applegate, Robin Hills, Rebecca Cassaletto, Jessica Bourque, Corey Bourque Jr., Hov Brown, Luca Hills and Jonathan Hills
He is predeceased by his father, Walter Hills, mother, Olga Hills and his son, Robert Deschamps-Hills.
All are welcome to the calling hours which will be held on Monday, August 26th from 5 to 8pm at Conte-Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, MA.
Richard's remains will be scattered at his favorite place in New Hampshire in a private event.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
