Robert G. ("Bob") Comeau

Robert (Bob) Comeau, 81, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on the morning of April 22nd at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Lawrence on December 16, 1939 to the late  Alphonse and Florianne (Proulx) Comeau. Prior to retirement, Bob was a purchaser at Der-Tex Corp in Lawrence, MA for many years.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Catholic. One would often find Bob cheering on local professional sports teams, working Sudoku/Word puzzles, or reading the local paper, however Bob’s favorite pastime was being with his family. Whether talking together in the living room or at a restaurant, as long as his family was there, Bob was a happy man. In conversation with Bob, the topic would often drift to his three grandchildren, for whom he had extreme pride and love. Those who knew Bob, knew and loved his sense of humor which he proudly and lovingly passed on to his grandchildren. A mentor to many, Bob had a way with words, the gift of the golden tongue some would say, and often knew how to get his point across in a direct, but respectful way.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dot Comeau of Lawrence, whom he married on May 25th 1963. Bob is also survived by his daughters, Robin Anderson and her husband Christian of Hudson, NH and Jodie Wightman and her husband Shawn of Dracut. Bob adored his three grandchildren, Cailean Anderson, Lauren & Eric St. Louis and two step-grandchildren, Zack & Kristen Wightman. Bob was the brother of the late John Comeau and Jackie (Comeau) Costa. Bob is survived by brothers, Ron Comeau and his wife Pat of Epping, NH and Paul Comeau and his wife Lorraine of Plaistow, NH, his sister-in-law, Olivia Comeau of Pelham, NH and several nieces and nephews.
 
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning, April 28th at 10 o'clock to be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, 12 Main Street, Pelham, NH. Interment at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH will be private.
