Robert (Bob) Joseph Duffy of Boxford, MA passed on March 22, 2022 at 80 years old at home. Bob was born on October 8, 1941 in Pleasantville, NJ to the late Elizabeth and Jerome Duffy, the third of three children. Raised in Ventnor, NJ, Bob was a graduate of Atlantic City High School. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in aeronautical engineering and later from Northeastern University with a M.Sc. A passionate engineer with a lifelong love of aviation, Bob had a long and fulfilling career at the General Electric Company in Lynn, MA where he held several executive roles. Bob’s greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather. Over their 57 years of marriage, he and Cynthia (Cindy) built a beautiful life together that they shared with their 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Bob had a wide and ever-growing circle of friends from every stage of his life. He was always very active, whether golfing with his group of friends or going for long bike rides with Cindy. An avid reader, Bob was constantly exploring new ideas and discussing them with others. Bob loved to travel and visit new places and he and Cindy explored the world together with friends and family. He especially loved returning to the Jersey Shore for the annual air show. He was his grandchildren’s greatest champion, and they all cherished every moment spent with their “Poppy.”
He is survived by his beloved wife Cindy; son Robert and his wife Elizabeth of Darien, CT and their children Robert, Nicholas, and Mary; and daughter Christina Madaus and her husband, Christopher of Needham, MA and their children William, Stephanie, and Patrick. Bob will be
missed by many other friends and relatives. We all loved and admired him greatly.
