Robert F. ("Bob") Erler

Robert Erler, 88, of Windham, NH, died peacefully, January 29, 2024.  He was born in Methuen, MA son of the late Emily Naefe and Carl W. Erler.  He grew up and was educated in Andover, MA and graduated from Punchard High School in 1953 and from Brown University in Providence, RI in 1957.

Bob married Carolyn (Holt) Erler in 1961 and resided in Haverhill, MA. He served in the US Army for 6 years active and reserves. Bob and his family had a Balsam Fir Christmas tree, wreath and kissing ball business, including a roadside flower and vegetable display for 20 years. He retired from the Ayers Village Volunteer Fire Department, Haverhill, MA in 1996 as Captain. He was part of the team that installed the first computer system at Western Electric where he was employed for 35 years. In 1999 Bob and Carolyn moved to Windham, NH in a retirement home they helped design and build.

Bob was predeceased by his father Carl, mother Emily, brother Carl Jr., and sisters Karolyn Barnard and Pauline Klempa. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, sons, Chester and wife Anne Marie (Calzetta), Daniel and wife Anita (Idicula), and daughter Virginia and husband Michael Dodier Jr., and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Katherine Erler, and Brendan Dodier.

Calling Hours at the Conte-Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown, MA are Saturday, February 3rd, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Harmony Cemetery also in Georgetown, MA.
