Robert Arnold Field, 71, of Newburyport, MA, formerly of Georgetown, MA passed away on January 22, 2021 after a prolonged illness under the love and care of Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation. He is survived by his sister Marlene (Field) Warner and predeceased by his parents Celena (Moffitt) Chapman and Harold G. Field, Sister Doris (Field) Holt, Brother Edward G. Field and stepfather Floyd Chapman.
Bobby loved working as a paperboy from age 11 through 18, then he followed his passion of becoming a successful chef. He cooked for ARA Food Services, The Governor’s Academy, Byfield , Westford Nursing Home, Westford, MA, Motherhouse of the Sisters of Mercy, Windham, NH, and The Bobby Orr-Mike Walton Sports Camp, Ontario, CAN. He enjoyed being a member of The Boy Scouts of America and continued on as a committee member, Assistant Scout Master, Scout Master, and Lifetime Veteran member. He enjoyed all that Boy Scouts had to offer and loved helping, teaching, mentoring, and planning hiking and camping trips and of course planning and cooking meals at many scouting events. He was very enthusiastic about rockets and taught children in the Georgetown Pioneer Space and Rocket Club. He enjoyed spending his free time with his Boy Scout friends and the neighborhood kids watching movies and his favorites, Star Wars, The Three Stooges and Dr. Who. He also enjoyed playing board and video games, building his dune buggy, and had a great love for photography. He had his camera with him at all times. Bobby will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Friday morning, February 5th at 11 o'clock in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. Visitation will be held prior to his service from 10 to 11am.
