Robert A. Hawkes

 Robert A. Hawkes of Boxford, MA, passed away Feb. 20, 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, MA.

On February 8th, he turned 90 years old and was very proud of that accomplishment. We can't express all the experiences that he encountered from 1935-2025, but we can say that he lived a FULL life. From growing up on a farm in Gorham, ME to summering on Sebago Lake, being a tremendous basketball and baseball player, while growing up and continuing at Gorham Teachers College in Gorham, ME.

Moving to Boxford, MA with his wife Mary Ann in 1960, to expand their family and becoming part of the first faculty at Masconomet Regional High School, as a shop teacher, assistant Football Coach and Head Coach of Masco's 1st Cape Ann League Basketball Championship in 1964.

Moving on to a career in the Automotive industry with General Motors and then creating Hawkes Auto Parts. He enjoyed being with his buddies as an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. You would never be lost in the woods when you were with Bob.

He is survived by Rosemarie Ferry and her husband Ted of Conway, NH, Marcia Twombly and her partner Mario Moreira of West Townsend, MA, Michael Hawkes and his wife Rebecca of Merrimack, NH, Eric Hawkes and his wife Kathryn of Dedham, MA. He was a grandfather to Keith and John Ferry, Curtis and Kelsie Twombly, Jackson and Lincoln Hawkes and Cotter and Cameron Hawkes. He was a great grandfather to Carter Zangari, Jaxson and Brooke Ferry and Cora Ferry.
